School Yard Fight

This is for all you parents of kids who are in school.

Went shopping for school supplies for the kids today.  First, the lists seem to get longer and longer every year.  When I have to throw down $200 for school supplies there is a problem (and I went with the cheap stuff).  People complain about gas, electric, and taxes going up.  Its time to add school supplies to that list.

Next was the experience.  I know we have 2 weeks left until school starts so I thought we'd be one of few families shopping for supplies.  Wrong.  Its Sunday, the day of rest, Sunday drivers, etc..  What happened to the calm day.  I felt like I was in a scrap for pencils and erasers.  I also had a little girl swipe what I thought was the last of these folders I was after for my son.

Survival of the fittest for you parents when you go out and good luck!

Bi-Psycho-lists of Fort Collins

For all you Fort Collins residents this one is for you.  Getting tired of the bike riders here.  I get we are a bike friendly town but letting them take over the streets was not what I had in mind.  Do pedestrians have the right of way, yes.  Nowhere have I read that bicyclists have the right of way too.

As I was longboarding on Go Skate Day a cop yelled at me for skating through Old Town.  I pointed to 2 bikers riding right through and he said nothing, of course he was on a bike as well.  He explained to me that a skateboard is a toy and a bike is not!  What the hell?!

Congrats to those who want to go out and ride for health sake but get the hell out of my way.  There is a reason there is a bike lane, use it.  Just a reminder you are supposed to follow the rules of the road which means stopping at stop signs and such.  We need a law like "Make My Day" so if I mow down a biker for riding in the street, I don't end up in prison.

Short little side note.  Respect your skaters, most of us are law abiding citizens and you won't see any of us riding down College getting in your way of window shopping.

Poli-ticking Time Bomb

Here we go, another election year.  Hate and fear breeds voters.  How many of you have made up your mind on your next President based on an ad or news report?  I'm betting a lot of you.  How many of you don't vote and still bitch about what the President is doing?  How many of you claim you are part of a party because your parents vote that way?  How many of you think that the President has everything to do with what goes right or wrong with our country?

Guess what, our government wouldn't be there if it wasn't for us.  So if we are going to blame someone it should be ourselves.  Politicians feed off of our dependency of the media and our lowered interest to find facts about who or what they stand for.  We are this country, we are this government, we are the United States.  They have us fighting each other when we should be fighting them.  No I'm not saying anarchy, I'm saying we have a voice so use it.

Am I going to tell you who I think you should vote for?  Nope.  The only thing I wish for is you go out and vote with a full understanding of who you are voting for.

I am going to provide a link that is easy to get registered with.  It's the only thing in the past 20 years that has been good coming from MTV.  Rock the Vote

The Beginning

So this is why I'm starting this.  Facebook has been flooded with a number of things for years and everytime I want to say something its lost in the bs.  So here I am, instead of a status update you can read what I have to say without weeding through the 800 friends (that you are sure you don't know half of them) comments or status updates.  Is this a good thing, probably not but damnit I like to talk and be heard.

If you don't like what I have to say, don't read it.  I would love to hear your comments whether they are in support, hate, arguementative, etc...  My feelings don't hurt easily, plus this is America, freedom of speech!  Feel free to stereotype me, judge me, hate me, love me.  I'm not doing this for attention, I'm doing it to make some points that I have.  If I make you think about it, then my mission is accomplished.  Not intending to change lives or save people.

If you want to know what I believe in then read my blog or ask me.  Before I get started does anyone have any questions?
